Whether in a laboratory, securing projects for R&D or building a business, the Ulteon team is constantly driven by a deep desire to help mitigate climate change in a just and long-lasting manner. The core team of Ulteon met at Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin, where they set up research and development laboratories that produced world-record perovskite-based solar cells, including tandem solar cells with Silicon, CIGSe and perovskite.
Within just a few years, the HZB team became well known in the world stage through inventing new patented solutions, delicately controlling their processes and developing deep understandings of the underlying device physics. One of the team's patented molecules ("Me-4PACz") didn't only lead to a leap in tandem cell efficiencies (1), but also to the current world-record single junction solar cell (2). Now, they strive for putting their achievements into good use with transformative technology by commercializing the research output.

Our mission
We're on a mission to change the global photovoltaics technology and supply chain through material innovation, smart process mining, AI-assisted research and the distilled know-how of our German and European network. Long-term, we want to provide a technology that secures the critically important solar module production in Europe and the generation of unique technological know-how that our economy needs.
Our vision
We want to contribute to the sustainable tranformation of our world energy production. Solar energy should continue being the most cost-effective form of energy production and it should be readily available for everyone. Ulteon targets module efficiencies that make even small or mobile spaces viable for independent solar energy production.
